Shillingstone CC

Welcome to the 2017 Season
Cricket continues to develop apace at Shillingstone;  our two men’s teams on Saturday are playing in the Dorset Premiership and Division 2 respectively; these represent the highest level reached in the club’s history and are undoubtedly bring some challenges for us but real successes are still there including a record hundred for Tom House in June again Martinstown. We have also re-entered the Wednesday evening Ranston League.
The club has entered the newly established 25-25 over league, seeking with many other clubs to address the participation decline in Sunday cricket. We have attracted more than 15 new adults within the village to cricket and already held several practices and twice put out teams of men and women in matches against Sturminster and Verwood. This exciting new area has been linked to sustaining our junior cricket and the club is a recognized centre for the new ECB All Stars programme, attracting first level entry youngsters between the ages of 5 and 8. Currently we are also running two U9 sides and 1 U11 who have been playing regular local evening matches and the club also runs a weekly session at the primary school. All of this has been very well supported by the parents, special mention to Martin Barlow for becoming an ECB activator and the manager of the U9s cohort.
Always room for more players and more volunteers at the club…please contact us at ( as on fixture card)
